So I'm getting my bike on Friday and I've got everything covered except insurance. The companies I've looked at all want a lot more money than I planned on and I was wondering if anyone knew a decently cheap insurance company that won't break a poor college boys piggy bank :/
Thanks, Johnny |

I don't know who you have checked but I use Dairyland. They were cheaper and had better insurance than Progressive. My rate was $670 a year full coverage for my 05 ZX10R with Dairyland. State Farm is usually good but you have to move your car policy over to them.

Tyne started a similar thread a few months back:
http://www.tucsonsb.c... Unfortunately, if you are pretty young and ride a true sport bike, it will be tough for you to get what you might consider to be a "good" deal. Certainly doesn't hurt to shop around though. You might get lucky and find something close to your price range. |

Your going to have to call them all. There is no "magic" answer as to who has the best rates. I have also been through this with every bike I have owned. Currently I have 2 of my bikes with Esurance(American Modern), 1 with Geico, and my 2 quads with Allstate, my truck and SUV with Safeco. I REALLY wish I could get all my vehicles under the same company but every time I try I get really good rates for some and then really bad rates for others. Even with multi discounts I save a LOT more this way.
Good luck. |

Just be sure when you're calling these places you're comparing apples to apples as far as deductibles and coverages or it will get REALLY confusing. Joey said after we get back from SD he wants to sit down with you and help you with all of it so we'll see if his word is good ;)

Thanks so much guys! I get my bike TOMORROW so this info is very useful. I tried all of the companies mentioned and some were just not for me lol (Dairyfarm wanted $2000 a year) and some were decent (Progressive only wants $1000 a year)
I guess I need to suck it up and just start coughing up the cash lol |
