A friend of mine owns a cabin on Mt. Lemmon and he says the sheriffs hang out at the overlooks (like Geology Vista) and look down at the lower roads just waiting for speeders to come around blind curves.

we went up last weekend and didn't see one cop.

Happy I didnt get arrested! After they let Matt go they read me the riot act for about 5 mins and then decided to take the cuffs off me, gave me my firearm back, and a nice ticket for going 45+.

Didn't RSVP for this one, just decided to show up at the top. Aside from a rider going down and cops out the Yang, it was a good ride. I don't know why they decided to pull you guys over and leave Will and I alone.

Was Dipalma on duty today? Heard he got reassigned off the mountain for numerous complaints of unethical practices and harrasment

...actually, Palma is no longer with the police department...for numerous reasons....

.....someone dying or getting seriously injured....a bike getting impounded and someone actually going to jail. I avoided a ticket on five separate occasions today and had a great solo ride up the mountain....so ASIDE from the negatives the ride wasn't that bad.

yeah, the weather was great and traffic wasn't too bad, it seems like the bicycles are multiplying though...

Wait a minute...when did the cops show up? I figured they would after the way the front of the group was passing cars and cyclists....but i didn't see any on my way down. Someone explain please.

I don't remember anyone doing anything illegal. There were a lot of motorcycles up there that morning, must have been them... perhaps the cops got called because of the bicyclists hogging the entire road and causing a dangerous situation.

When the downed biker and his bike were loaded and we were headed down everyone stopped at windy point. Well when we left there as we headed through the little area that has some parking pullouts for picnic areas and hiking trails, well there was a sheriff sitting at the first parking area and as soon as a group of passed he pulled matt over and let a few others just ride by. As I rode by he signaled me to pull over. Not sure why he singled me and matt out.
