The weather will be nicer so I thought a run up to the SRC would be a nice change of pace. We're going to head up to our regular pull out and let people do as many runs back and forth to the gas station below as they'd like before heading back to Globe (or somewhere around there) for some lunch. There is a great little mexican place that we enjoy eating at. There's great sweepers out there for those that haven't been but police presence is well known so be careful.
Here is the route we will be taking
ya, no shit. Butch you sound like boomhour on king of the hill.
A couple ppl and myself are gonna do a preride on sat.just in case the weather turns bad for sunday.anybody is welcome to come along.same time and meeting place as sunday's ride.
I think Butch speaks for us all. It's hard to disagree with any of it!
HEY what does it take to change the ride to saterday for real/all 32 of us/looks like sun. is rain max/will I AM M ?
Really wish I could just play hooky from work and go Friday! Even Saturday looks pretty windy as the bad weather approaches. Everyone that goes Sat: have a fun, safe ride.
hey butch we don"t need to offically change anything ,if you wanna ride sat then come.not everybody is able to change to sat so they wanna wait and see what the weather does.
Please inform me of any changes or plans to the ride Will. I live right in Oro Valley. If it rains here too, you guys are welcome to warm up at my house right in rancho vistoso.
The wife and I are down for the Sat ride. We found a sitter for the kids, so we are G2G. Getting my initial service done on the bike tomorrow, just hit the 600 mi break-in point last weekend! Ready to put some real highway miles on her now. See you all then!
A heads up to everyone riding on Sat, this is not a TSB run ride and please be safe. Other than that have a lot of fun :)
Just check Weather Underground and there is now an 80% chance of T-Storms on Sunday.
As long as it is not a down pour Sun morning I will still be riding.
I'll ride with you...Sunday. BUT IF it even looks like rain dont look for me!!!
sorry guys im out of this on and probably will be out till after my wife deploys im trying to spend time with her b4 she leaves on april 1 to all u guys ride safe in group and on ur own personal time and i hope to see u guys soon
What ever day You decide to ride, STAY ALERT and be aware of your surroundings. Its going to be windy and maybe rainy. Leave yourself enough space to stop quickly if needed. No fun picking a GSXR out of your butt ya know! Keep it in your skill level and ride your own ride. Keep it safe and enjoy.......Peace Out!
I think I'm going to pass this time around. Debbie and I are riding with the Freewheelers to BBC in Bisbee on Saturday and want to stay a little closer to home on Sunday.
Well ,I got home this morning at 3:00 am. I will miss Sat morning and pray for no rain Sunday. I wanna ride, I wanna ride , I wanna ride......
As of right now weather.com states PM showers. I am willing to risk it and will be at the Chevron by 8am tomorrow morning.
I want to ride, but unfortunately, the forecast is looking pretty grim. As much as I want to ride, I really don't feel like fighting the wind and rain, especially to and from SV if I don't have to. For those of you riding: please heed Will's advice on rain gear. You will be miserably cold if you get wet on this ride! Sorry to p*ss out on you, Will.
I think I'm going to plead The " T. " lol and so I'm out of this race also. what ever you all do be careful take it easy and take some damn rain gear....
Sorry kids, I have a HUGE fundraiser tonight for SAAF/WINGSPAN so I gota dress up as "Demonicka" and dance with gogo boys to raise money, (HOT) ah the life of a Drag Queen! be safe
Just got back a bit ago from the Sat pre-ride and the roads were GREAT! Ran into a few sprinkles, nothing big. If you bundle up and take some rain gear the Official Sunday ride should be Awesome. A little rain-X on the visor wouldnt hurt. Wish I could again. Be safe Guys and Gals!
7 of us went on today (Saturday) Traffic was light, weather was awesome, pace was great. Everyone rode in their comfort level. The sweeper got a little impatient in the canyon, ahem, but altogether a great ride.
The weather and ride today was awesome! It looked like the 7 of us just tuned well together. The experienced ones helped out in explaining the mechanics of taking the sharp turns in SRC. Those curves I will say are racetrack curves :-).
For those going tomorrrow you will surely need rain gear and be safe especially when riding the canyon. I wish i could do it again but enjoy guys. It was fun!
Today was the best ride yet weather was perfect a little rain but was nice to clear off some of the bugs lol. thanks to all the riders for showing and helping me learn cornering and stuff and also for being patiant. the leader was a good example and lead the pack really well and the sweeper was good to helped us guys in the back out lol. well thanks again everyone and good to meet you all had a great time.
Oh and for the people going tomorrow have lots of fun and be safe it a great ride
Saturday preride was amazing, thanks everyone who went and was a blast riding with everyone. Big thanks to Butch for suggesting we ride back through Superior, that was amazing.
Also, total length of our ride was 306.9 miles. For anyone riding tomorrow, get ready to join the numb butt club.
Sorry all, had a sitter for the kids, but it fell through. Turns out our sitter felt it was more important to go out drinking with her girlfriends than help us out... I really hate idiots! Anyway, we are out for this run, catch up with you all as soon as we can. Maybe we can find a RELIABLE sitter next time round.
Have a safe ride tomorrow all! 50% morning and 100% afternoon chance of rain and thunderstorms does not make for a fun ride :-( If you aren't proficient, skip the ride, or be extremely careful. Have fun!
well i was one of them that went sat. GREAT ride jay thanks.weather looks good right now. hey guys have a good an safe ride today.
I went Sat. with jay. Waether was PERFECT! Almost no traffic, saw 3 cops all day, road was dark black and pebble free! Georgouse ride through winkleman, and fast ride through the canyon=) Thanks jay for helpin out my buddy, he really enjoyed it. All in all for everyone that went saturday, you guys were all gret. It was A real good time being around you fellas. Thanks for the best ride i have personaly been on.
