I didn't get a chance to say a big 'Thank You' for sweeping yesterday, Butch. I really appreciate it, you are always helpful and ready to assist the group. You rock big time, my friend. I hope you're not out in the rain today!!
'Rider of the Day' goes to Kory. Although he slept in, he came up alone anyway, no longjohns or socks! and caught us at the Cookie Cabin. glad you had a safe ride Kory. Sorry i couldn't ride some more with you and Ivan, my right rotor is warped i guess.
? Great ride!!! I love that road! Only one slick spot where snow was melting and running across a curve where there was a lot of tar filling cracks in the pavement. I didn't hang around in Summerhaven as I have to work the honeydue list today. Tracy, send me that video file when you get it download. ?
Nice report Don! Looks like a go and can't wait, cya guys there!
Watch out for ice in the shade. Be careful and have fun!
Road info said there are no road closures. I just went up there and came back, beautiful scenery, basically dry road. It was cool, not cold. Very minimal sand in center of lanes, a few wet spots from snowmelt. By the Ranger station, the sign for 4wd/chains was displayed, but regular cars were going up and 6-8 bikers were going up too. I turned around a half mile past the station. Really good conditions to Rngr St, after that we'll have to see. Only about 6 or 7 miles to top from there.
There could be restrictions. Saw on the local news that they were only allowing 1 vehicle up for each 1 that came down. Lots of people playing in the snow and not enough parking.
oh really, thx for the info Melinda. Supposed to be around 50 and sunny though. Maybe we can try for windy pt, and if it's sanded down there too, we'll see what people want to do. Cesar went up last Friday, he said it was dirty on way up but no problem at that time.
I have some info: a group went up last weekend and said they sanded the road. I think im gonna give it a couple weeks before i ride it.unless somebody has gone up since last weekend
I will be 2uping with Joey on the next ride to Mt Lemmon. It's my only way to keep semi warm lol
Hi Mark, We have had some 2 up riders before. We have some in the group that 2 up all the time.
Guys,
Does anybody ride with a pillion passenger or is everybody solo?
As Melinda pointed out, the weather may be a factor, so we'll have to keep an eye on it.
